![]() The cover art for the new album consists of three elements. First is the painting by Rachel Girard, which you see here.
The lettering I did myself in Photoshop.
The border art was done by Katie Miranda.

Note that this border is NOT the same as the one on the cover of
"Don't Be Afraid". It's made up of the same elements, but it's not the same. The borders
on the front and back of the album aren't the same either. At first, one might think that I have a lot of time on my hands.
But I made the border for this page in less than one minute.
Before "Don't Be Afraid" was released, I wanted to create some unifying graphic element for every InSoc album,
poster or whatever from now on. I had been thinking of having a border like this around the album cover, and wanted it to
be the recognizable InSoc graphic. I didn't want to just keep re-using it, however, so I came up with the following
method:
I had Katie make up a set of 32 side tiles and 32
corner tiles which could each blend seamlessly with 4 others in the set. I made up a compatibility chart to define which
tiles could legally go next to which. She and Sam made the tiles while
Chris Laurel made the program which automatically assembles them together into a completed image.
I wanted everyone else to be able to make InSoc borders, too, so I distributed a copy of all the necessary
materials on the Data CD included with the new album. You may download the the program files necessary
to make your own InSoc borders HERE, and the tiles themselves
HERE. Instructions for putting the border around another image in Photoshop are
HERE. Use Winzip to unzip Border.zip, or one of the file names will be
truncated and it will suck.
